With a fumble, usually the D falls on it and that is where they get the ball.
With an interception, the ball is still live and the runner is usually still up and able to take the ball back. Another way to look at it, "Pick 6" is a much more common phrase than "Scoop and Score".

Again.. both are bad, but I'd take fumbles over picks... especially when your QB tosses 4 TD's and 400+ yards.
