Although I don't condone it, I can see why fear and prejudice of Muslims come into play because you do have some subset of Muslims doing some pretty awful things.

I don't see the corollary with the Mormons. When was the last Mormon beheading you have heard of? Yes I get that we have some things in our history that aren't sterling, but that would hardly justify the angry venom in my opinion.
