I have as good a reason as anyone to make the switch.
I live in the east side of Salt Lake City. With the exception of my dad and FIL, everyone in my family is a Utah fan. All of my co-workers are Utah fans (and they remind me of that every single day). It would probably be somewhat of a seamless transition.

However, I have imagined myself in that situation, sitting there in the stands of RES, wearing red. The thought of that literally makes me sick. It gives me a pit at the bottom of my stomach. It doesn't really have to do with any hatred of the fans, because most of the ones I know aren't bad at all. The fact is, changing something that is so firmly ingrained in your DNA is easier said than done.

My son went with me to Saturday's game. It was his first BYU game ever. He couldn't tell much of what was going on down on the field, but he knew that we lost, and he could see people all around is getting upset, but he had a good time with me. On the way back to our car he asked, "Dad, can we go to the game next week too?"

If any of you are considering switching sides, be my guest. As for myself, BYU has forged a bond with me that won't be broken.
