Kehl isn't RESPONSIBLE for the execution of the instructions. Bronco IS. Therefore, when Kehl points out that the defensive players aren't doing their jobs, he's an outsider criticizing something he sees. When Bronco does it, he's an insider absolving himself from responsibility which clearly belongs to him.
Throwing someone under the bus means picking someone besides yourself to blame something on. There's no reason for Kehl to blame himself. There IS reason for Bronco to do it. Especially because he's so big on management-speak and the lessons of the greats of the past, you'd think he'd be better at accepting responsibility for poor performance. But he is, instead, one of the worst I've ever heard.
That's the difference.
