Gary Anderson isn't an asst. coach at Utah or the HC and Utah State. It's why Brady Hoke isn't the HC at SDSU. Texas' new coach, etc.
Again and as I have said, there is wisdom in CFB at large in the philosophy of having someone with experience outside of a program. Doesn't always equal success, however there's a reason why unknowns don't normally get promoted to jobs of high responsibility and demand.
That is also the same in the business world. Very rarely is the mailroom clerk the next in line to become the CEO.
We don't need to compete with the elite colleges as far as coaching goes, however it's embarrassing that our coaching trees and experience look like Wyomings, or USU's or SDSU's or UNLV's, etc.
There's a reason why those teams struggle to find success and it begins in large part to their their coaching structure and ability.
