Ok here I go my experience with my son
My son is a smart, good, happy little boy he has ADHD his first year of Kindergarden we received weekly calls from the teacher and principal about his behavior, not mean just distributive example rolling on the floor, jumping off his chair during class, standing on the table, having to pee 10 times a day, scribbling his homework, jokes, always talking constantly being discipline.
The teacher was very frustrated at home we were constantly telling him to sit down eat your dinner, get in bed until 11 pm at night my wife was losing her mind.
His sister were yelling at him to shutup, leave me alone, in response he was yelling , my wife was yelling, everyone was yelling at this little five year old, not to be mean they were all worn out. He could control himself, his coping skill were not develop enough to control his impulses.
Then I was talking to my mother about medicating him, she said for his self esteem you need reduce all this negative input he receives hourly, it will only come back to hurt him as he develops in his adolescent years.
We held him back a year and his grades have shot up, he still very active and we receive some issues about twice a month, he happier his sisters like to be with him, my wife is sane now.
He loves science, we didn't know, he was never able to forces long last, night we built a robot out a motor, toothbrush and battery and it required some soldering, he would have never been able to do that last year.
In the summer and weekends we take him off the medication, and he a wild man but is outside swimming, running, basketball, bike riding and still going strong at 10pm.
He burns the medication out of his system by 3:30 everyday.

Interesting point girls exhibit ADHD differently they are quite, yet unable to focus their thought and concertration, often parents think their daughter are unmotivated, and don't recognize it as ADHD.
