We're giving an inspiring leader a $1,000,000 per year to coach football and win games. LDS shouldn't be the limiting factor - why should we recruit non-LDS players who adhere to the honor code and not think that a non-LDS coach couldn't respect the LDS faith and traditions?
I'd love to see firesides where a non-LDS Christian coach would give a talk and inspire everyone to be a better Christian, all the while respecting the culture and traditions of the LDS faith.
We need to stop requiring LDS membership as the main attribute.
