BYU officials described those schools as desperate. BYU was not pushing for Big 12 inclusion like TCU was, at least not openly. Look where they are now. All of the early reports said BYU was the Big 12s top target. You can believe what you want to believe about why BYU is not in - no invite or interest from the big 12 or bad negotiations and too many demands by BYU.
