A note on sugar:

EVERYBODY went away from 5 lbs. packages. They are all 4 lbs. now. That's a bit of a bummer, because for the root beer to taste really good, you need all that sugar. So, buy the 4 lbs. package, then add about another 1.5 cups of sugar.
