I don't like it, but the writing on the wall is becoming clearer all the time. They are gonna lose more and more fans as that writing becomes more and more clear too, as well they should. The church seems content to use the team as an extension of the church, and seems to have no signs of ever changing that. If you want to skimp and cut every corner possible, you can be decent and put a decent product on the field, but you can't win a NC in this era, let alone compete with the USC, Texas, Ohio St, and Alabama's of the game. (Yes, I know we beat Texas twice, and they were down. They won't be for long.) At a certain point, diminishing returns kicks in, and if you want to compete at the highest levels, you have to pony up the dough and pay for it. The church doesn't seem willing to do so, because it's the church. They want the BMW but want to pay for a Corolla. If they don't get the BMW, they are content with the Corolla.

I don't see us ever getting the BMW because the church doesn't seem willing to do what it takes to make it happen. They seem quite content with their precious Corolla and are unwilling to pay for any upgrades to get the BMW. Don't get me wrong, they WANT a BMW, but they refuse to pay for one. They will talk a LOT about how great a BMW would be, but will never actually DO what it takes to get one.

I really hope they prove me wrong, but as time passes, it's becoming increasingly clear that this is the case. It looks like we have a bad owner, but this one will never sell the team.
