I put some lasagna on my 3-year-old's plate, and he immediately puked onto the plate and the table cloth. My wife ran him into the bathroom to make sure he didn't immediately have to puke again and then to clean him up, while the rest of us moved everything off the table, wiped up the puke, then reset the table.
The little guy seemed ok, so we had a discussion about "please use the toilet if you have to throw up again", then had him sit at the table to try to eat dinner again. A few minutes later he hopped down and started jogging away.
My wife asked, "Do you have to throw up again?" He responded, "Yep" almost cheerfully, and successfully puked in the toilet that time. My boy is a fast learner, thankfully.
