if the champion of the SEC has a lousy SOS (which they usually do) no one will talk about it. But if the G5 best team has a "bad" SOS then it will be used as a hammer against them. When BYU was 4-0 their SOS was 15 but all anyone could talk about was BYU's weak schedule. With only 12 games in a schedule SOS is almost statistically meaningless. It is exactly like the infamous "eyeball test" in the run up to the NCAA tournament last year.
