and the money issues would work out at the FBS level just fine, and fans would like it a tremendous amount better.

Yes, tickets sell for FCS games. But that's a ridiculous idea to say this must be because fans like that. Of course if BYU were playing an FBS team today they would sell more tickets and at higher prices. Comparing an FCS game to no football is not the same comparison as comparing FCS sales to what another FBS game's sales would be like.
