That depression comes from our increasingly precarious position in the world of the College Football Playoff and our razor thin margin for error while being independent. It also comes from Utah being in the PAC 12, and BYU being left out when historically we have gone out of our way to take care of our little brother. None of those things are Bronco's fault, but he gets blamed for them.
He is to blame for playing an injured Riley Nelson, having no QB depth for five years, and giving up the defense again, when it is blatantly obvious his greatest strength and the reason we overlook some of his idiosyncrasies. He is to blame for losing to his rivals, which is borderline inexcusable.
He is not to blame for being independent and self-loathing so many CBers are in because they see us on the outside looking in. People are transferring their anger wrongly way too often. We are in a bad situation and no coach can change that.
