I have absolutely no doubt that BYU would have won that game had Taysom not got hurt. Yes, USU was bringing it and they wanted to win bad. But you know how things turn around. We would have got it going and out-scored them and won the game. Absolutely no doubt.

Taysom's presence on the field makes everyone play better. The players have confidence in him and it makes them play harder. We were sloppy and making mistakes and there is no excuse for that. But we've won games playing like that all year.

With Taysom we would most likely have gone undefeated this year. But his loss was more than just losing the best player and the star QB. When he went down, morale got a serious blow. Suddenly players went from thinking they could not be beat to not knowing if they could win another game.

Never more true: Football is ninety percent mental and the other half is physical.
