The terrible losses to terrible teams. Even before "the injury" we were playing so flat and did not seem to be prepared at all. A loss to Utah State at home should always be embarrassing. I do not want to be an invested fan of a team that considers Utah State a good win. I work with SEC and ACC grads and we love talking sports. I got them interested in BYU football and they all thought that BYU should be in a P5 conference, etc..., but then Utah State happened. As we all talked about our teams from then on it became more and more awkward, and week after miserable week I could see the pity growing in their eyes. In what universe should BYU ever have to worry about not beating Utah State or Nevada?
Also, being a good fan does not mean approving of everything your team does, especially losing. You can't expect greatness if you accept mediocrity. I still love the team, and the players putting in max effort, and I will watch the games that I have access to, but I am no longer pushing the BYU brand in public until we have a better product on the field. Too embarrassing. Hopefully BBall will come through this year so I can talk to my co-workers again.
Why would I wear the bag in good times? Makes no sense.
