I've always thought Taysom was on his way out this year due to his age. And I think he was on his way to having the kind of season that would justify his leaving. Now, with Taysom back, Hosick won't be able to compete for the '15 starting job. Hosick knows Mangum is returning. Starting in '15 would have given Hosick a big leg up over Mangum for '16 and '17. Now, Hosick would have to compete with a completely back-up-to-speed Mangum for that starting QB spot in '16, and Hosick may never grab that #1 spot. I don't blame him for looking at opportunities to compete for the starting job in '15.
