First of all, Oregon has to actually offer.

They've already got a 5 star QB commit. Plus a 4 star commit for 2016. Plus Mariota's backup. Plus a 4 star freshman behind him. Who knows how many other big time guys.

Going in and "competing" isn't the same as going in and having a really good chance.
