One Purdue fan's take on how to beat us. Do you buy this guy's analysis?
This came off the Purdue board:

Defending the perimeter against BYU...

BYU makes a living off of pump fakes, drives, and kick outs to open players on the wing. From what I can tell, they don't really have much of an inside/outside game, despite having two post players over 6'10" - who are there mostly to set screens, rebound & start breaks. As such, I would guess the best way to beat these guys is to play IYF perimeter defense, force the drives, and prevent the kick outs. If you trade their 3pt game for mid-range jumpers, they lose 20-25% of their scoring even if they hit their jumpers at the same percentage.

With our post players and the way we crash the boards, it is quite possible we can snuff their running game and turn it around on them. However, even if we make our shots, we have to transition to defense quickly, because they won't wait around to see how we align our defense. They just go.

Finally, looking at the size of their prior opponents, BYU has not yet faced a lineup that is bigger and faster, with perimeter players who can defend any of their guards on switches. I look for Painter to play a suffocating switching man and force them to win the game with their bigs and mid-range jumpers off of drives.

If they get their shooters open on the perimeter, it could be a long game for us. OTOH, if we can disrupt their perimeter offense and get our running & inside/outside games going, this could be a big win for us. Either way, BYU - because they are usually at an athletic disadvantage, despite their size - is a team which never gives up. We will have to play a 40 minute game - which will be great preparation for future B1G match-ups.
