You give up a more difficult shot and play the percentages. If we hit shots, good coaches adjust. The game is not static, but you open up surrendering the more difficult attempts until a team proves you wrong. If and once they do, you adjust. Utah let Carlino have his shots whenever and wherever he wanted them and as you all might recall, they let Collinsworth go to the rim. He was fouled a lot and basically split free throws for a time and then the game got out of hand. They shut Haws down for most of that first half and Mika did some nice things but all in all they did exactly what the Purdue fan was saying. They gave up the inside game in return for shutting down the outside game.
