would we lose this year?

2004 Utah would probably beat 2014. The comparison makes my head spin. 2014 Ute athletes are much better. I recently saw film of the 2004 Utes and the lack of speed is striking. 2004 Utes were way ahead of the game with the spread, but the 2014 Utes know how to defend the spread.

What makes you think the 2006-2009 BYU teams would all beat 2014 Utah? I think you are grossly underestimating the athletic ability of the USC, UCLA, Stanford and Michigan teams that Utah beat this year. Utah has more quality wins in 2014 than any year in BYU history (with room to spare). The real question is how would 2014 Utes do against the BYU glory years of the 80s. That makes my head spin also. Huge athletic/speed advantage for Utah at nearly every position (watch an old grainy film of the slooooow guys in 1984 if you don't believe me). But I would never bet against Jimmy Mac.

Regarding scholarship limits.... I think Bingham High has as many players on their combined rosters as BYU. I do think BYU would dominate Bingham High despite having the same number of players.
