this is an abnormal event in the history of the world or even in the history of oil and gas--as there is a history of boom and bust cycles particularly in this arena for a number of reasons. I believe the Saudi Oil Minister likened it to the Dotcom bust. Some of the people in Texas still remember the last major bust which off the top of my head occurred in the late 80’s after the inflation taming by Volker. I didn't think I implied that, but if it came across that way, that's not what I meant. I'll address what I meant about potential geopolitical consequences and other things in a later post when I get access to my laptop. I think I'll read the book first, so it might be a while.
