There are plenty rms that go to schools other than BYU. If an RM wants to go to BYU then they have the right to make that choice but they must follow transfer rules on so doing.

My understanding is that BYU does not actively recruit these missionaries but that the families and the missionary themselves make the decision.

Do we send letters our otherwise contact missionaries who are committed to other schools? I would hope that we would only do that in response of an inquiry and I don't think that should be construed as active recruiting. Now if we initiate the contact would that be a recruiting violation? If not I think it is still poor form.

So I would hope we are not initiating contact.

But I am against all of this hullabaloo over RMs anyway. Let them live their lives and go play where they want. I would hate to be locked down and have to commit where I am going to be 2 years from now at age 18.
