Polish the axles, true the wheels and test for proper
tracking by running it on a treadmill. The treadmill runs also help "break in" the axle/wheel combo and really works the graphite in. Worked really well for my sons. Good luck.

A jig saw is a nice tool to have. If you have more than one son I would invest.
