The A's made the playoffs on the last day of the season and they lost their best

starting pitcher. They finished more than ten games behind the Angels. They also had nothing in the minor leagues to fill the gaps. This team was going to finish in third place in 2015 and maybe last in 2016. Beane is making the right moves.

Beane is smart enough to know when its time to make changes and, unlike most GM's, he's not afraid of failure.
