Let's not confuse ourselves into thinking that the Giants could cut their payroll in half and field a team that resembled anything close to the team they won with--regardless of how much more 'chemistry' you think they had.
The A's lost to the Royals because their $100 million ace could not hold a four run lead in the 8th inning, while the Giants $100 million ace could.
That and double the payroll were the real differences.
