I think that its appealing for all P5s, but they also know that it will benefit
some conferences much more than others. Sure it would be nice for the B1G to make their own rules regarding their CCG, but passing the deregulation waiver benefits the Big 12 so much more than it would them. Having that rule in place (and keeping the Big 12 w/out a CCG) directly affected the B1G and got them into the CFP. If TCU and Baylor (the #2 and #5 teams at the time I think) were to play in a CCG, the winner would definitely be given a spot in the CFP and Ohio State is on the outside looking in.

I believe that conferences won't make this decision in a vacuum, and will take in to account the whole picture.

Or maybe that's how I think because that's what BYU NEEDS them to do..
