a _________ morning w glum, pouty long sighs, then the inevitable. "Idk, I just thought you'd put a little planning/effort(read:money) into it."
I only fell for that once. Even in the early years when $ is tight. Budget months in advance, secretly. And blow the top of her head off w/ diamonds. Earrings, necklace, whatever. And anything from Tiffany's. Now some wives really don't care about jewelry/diamonds. Until they see a friend/relative wearing something everyone is gushing over. Not gaudy, tasteful, quality.
When it's only the ladies, they talk about feeling guilty having $ spent on jewelry, and/or they're not the flashy "look at me" type. All self delusion, cause they think banjo strumming monkeys would fly out of their cheapskate, beloved husbands tail-pipe before he ever spent a dime on jewelry. A blender, a mixer, yeah, jewelry? Nyet! You dudes just gonna have to trust me on this.
