We Need Continued Rebranding
I feel like BYU could be much more appealing to the mainstream if they emphasized the academic, teaching-centric nature of the school and promoted the values it espouses more so than strict adherence to a very strict version of LDS living.

This would likely require, or at least benefit from, some chilling out from the honor code office in terms of how some of the code is currently enforced. I know, I know. That's a big can of worms that has been talked to death – – including by me.

Bottom line--there is much about BYU that is both needed in and appealing to the broader world. In the wake of a couple Crowton era scandals, we've become too sequestered within too small of a niche within our very own fold.

Armed with the right message, I feel like there's definitely room for us to go out and promote ourselves in Utah and elsewhere, more so than we currently do.

One foot note– – upon reflection, the t.v. ad we have that emphasizes all the places were BYU is highly ranked is very good. This is a good example of the type of thing I think we need to keep doing. I get that there will be a strong association between BYU and ardent members of the LDS faith. We need this. I just don't think that is where our appeal should start and end
