In a manner of speaking, yes.
The Pac-12 schools are secular and a church-backed and supported school would not fit in their culture.
The Big 12 supporters, who tend to lean on the fundamentalist side, may tolerate us but they do not view us as "mainstream" Christians. I doubt there exists many supporters (among the power brokers) for BYU to join the Big 12
if it expands.
If the decision makers aren't interested, no amount of articles, fan polls or pleas from the BYU administration is going to change their minds.
