independence and headed towards irrelevance. Our illustrious leadership at the Y is letting us down. Utah, on the other hand, has gone about business, without a lot of fan fare, such as sayings, like "band of brothers" Quest for Excellence" Tradition, honor, spirit" and so forth. Not sure what those are all about, but sure not helping and a little silly. Utah has increased towards relevance and as you say are ranked in both sports. If not for women's volleyball, not sure where we would be.
I don't see any way, we could play week in and week out against other teams in the B12 or P12. We might beat a Texas or Oklahoma one week but fall flat on our faces the next few weeks against a Baylor, TCU or Oklahoma State. We beat a 3rd ranked Oklahoma a few years ago, Tulane the following week and became the sports media darling, but then fell flat against Florida State. That's just kind of what we do. We are not able to get the recruits to compete against those type of teams week and week out and I don't think we will.
We should stop kidding ourselves and content ourselves with a G5 conference and hopefully get into a NY6 bowl from that angle. At least enjoy some conference championships along the way.
Next year, we say we have a great schedule. Well, we might possibly win 5 games next year. Is that what we want?
Well, flame away!!!
