That I said was inaccurate. Your OP said Bronco makes less than $1.5M a year. You don't know that and it is incorrect. Bronco's salary was over $1M a year before he signed the last two extensions. Giving him what BYU said was substantial increases. His salary is less than the $2M that Whitt gets but it's not that much less.

BYU assistant coaches make more than they would if they were coaching at high schools. So that's incorrect also.

The numbers in your second post are in the ballpark. BYU is not paying as much as Utah or PAC12 schools. Also, most Utah assistants have been on the job longer than BYU assistants. Christensen was a head coach before taking the Utah job. Maybe those things justify higher salaries? Mainly though, Utah needs to be competitive with PAC12 schools while BYU doesn't. So they pay more.

Coaches salaries have escalated in recent years. Good coaches are in demand. More people need to contribute to raise BYU salaries so we can continue to compete.
