Why would they care about keeping the G5 happy?
#1 -- The P5 will have all the autonomy they want, the don't give a yewt about keeping the G5 happy.

#2 -- We aren't even G5, we are associated with no one. If, IF, they cut a deal with the G5, it will be a guaranteed spot for the G5 best conference champion.

It appears like there will be 3 "at large bids" if playoff goes to 8. It really is only 2 since the SEC will almost always take two spots. Those two at large spots will be teams like USC, Oklahoma, Michigan St., Clemson...top ten teams who didn't win their conference title. They will have quality wins and distinctly harder SOS then any BYU schedule. BYU, unless undefeated, will have no place in the discussion, at all. (Especially if ranked somewhere around 20 with no top ten wins.) If G5 gets a slot, BIG if, then BYU's lot is even worse.
