I totally agree. But I've seen the word thug thrown around a lot more about Memphis than I have BYU. I'm sure it's as much a BYU bias as it is a racial bias here on Cougarboard, but it happens too frequently in the media, and even more so in a somewhat insular generally Mormon community.

I think Richard Sherman's interview in the playoffs last year is a prime example. Nothing about his actions have merited calling him a thug, but that word was thrown around a lot to describe him, and it wasn't a good thing.
