The Anchorage area has some teams that are everybit as good, if not better, than teams in the rest of the country. Not too long ago, Service High School (in Anchorage) took to the road and in two consecutive years beat the state champs from Hawaii and the state champs from Washington.

They don't get much attention from D1 schools because they are too far away for most scouts. There is some great talent and coaching up there.
