Strong evidence that 8 games isn't enough in a 14-team conference
The irony is, you end up playing everyone in the conference more often with 16 teams divided into 4 pods/divisions.
But, conference championship game de-regulation could ease the scheduling issues. If you simply take the best two teams for the conference championship game, then you can have pods/divisions for scheduling purposes, such that you end up playing everyone in the conference more often.
