It requires a little more geeky know-how, but it's very customizable.

I think I'll be able to get it to control a Roku, and tell it to tune a specific channel on the Sling TV app. I don't know for sure how easy that will be yet, because I don't have the Sling TV app on my Roku yet. If I can do that, then it becomes pretty straight forward to set it up to record shows, using existing equipment I've got.
