My dad, healthy as can be his whole life, always active, eats right, etc. Had double bypass surgery a few years ago. Didn't get a heart attack (thankfully) but was feeling some discomfort in his chest and noticed he quickly got short of breath while outside. Just found out that a few weeks ago my uncle (dad's younger brother) just had a heart attack and is recovering in the hospital. He has owned an Aikido school for as long as I can remember and is the epitimy of health. My dad did some looking into the family history, and it turns out that his grandfather died in early 60's from expected heart failure, and that besides his dad, no males on his side of the family have ever lived much passed 70, so there's some bad genes in our pool.
Make sure you understand your family's heart/health history (good plug for geneology!). Amazing the impact it has on your health and tendency to heart trouble
