Formers' opinions do matter, but in what way and for how much...?
Does that make what “formers” say “gospel” that cannot be questioned (obviously, we've even seen gospel debated)?

I do agree that “formers” should have a voice and deserve the respect of us listening, but what's wrong with direct questions to their opinions, their recent qualifications, and their current motivations? Is it only okay to blindly accepting this stuff without questioning the statements made, the source, and the motivation?

If Jayson's motivation included BYU winning recruiting battles this week, why did he say these things publicly today? Where did he get the 90% of former players are frustrated (i.e., was there a vote; did they elect Jason as their voice; etc.); how many decisions has Jason made that are more complex than making a tackle, etc?
