just a bunch of crap to me, why should I be tested on it? The important thing is that I know 8+5=13. Whatever method I take to get there is my business.

I'm all for discovering all the different methods that work best for different kids. But for me, I just know 8+5=13. It's quick, it's simple, and it gets the job done. It's what works for me.
