No question BYU is slipping in the area of fan support (no need to go on listing how and why), if UVU gets on the ball and starts playing football I can see a lot of local support swaying from BYU to UVU. I'm sure I'm not the only one who hasn't renewed season tickets and is no longer too excited about buying the latest BYU gear. There are a lot of competing priorities nowadays for our time and money. It is just hard to be fanatical about an average program that talks about how elite they are. I'd much rather be a lukewarm or casual fan/supporter of a UVU program that is what it is, a non-elite team that doesn't talk about their elite status, only to manage the program in a very average way.
