It's funny to me that you say that
10 years ago, nobody could have predicted the situation we'd be in, and yet you feel you can predict with confidence that BYU is doomed. What's to say in 10 years the landscape won't be significantly different (again) in a completely unpredictable way?
In reality, this systematic shift happened in a short span of roughly 3 years. Sports are cyclical, and the college football landscape isn't set in stone by any means. You may as well jump ship when it comes to BYU basketball, too - they will definitely see years where the program will be trending downward with no relief in sight.
