I think everyone learned that strength of schedule is important to consider and the ONLY reason the ACC got a team in the playoffs is because they were undefeated and the defending National Champion. Otherwise the ACC wasn't going to get it.

Most teams in the P5 don't want to play a team from the SEC, the BIGXII or another P5 conference... BYU being the next best thing is a schedule booster and thus would add legitimacy if an ACC team played and beat BYU... over playing and beating say... a Marshall or even a East Carolina.
