Much better officiating overall
Finally, after a long string of games where BYU has been robbed by the refs, a game that got most of the calls right. And we really needed it since we shot poorly, couldn't make a three and didn't play well overall. We're a good shooting and the best scoring team but didn't show it last night. We would have lost had the officiating not gone our way, as it should have.

The foul that should have been a charge was an obvious bad call, not even as close as the early charge Neilson drew. But at least the officials didn't let them mug Haws all night like they usually do. They called it fairly close most of the time. USF played good hard defense that kept BYU from getting good shots. In the process they're going to commit some fouls and the refs were calling the obvious ones. Haws was able to make some great shots but not the threes. Kaufusi, Andrus and Neilson made everything they took inside for a total of four baskets. Everyone else pretty much sucked and couldn't hit much of anything.

I don't have any problem with the refs ringing up our big guys since they don't seem to have figured out what they can do and what they can't do and get some fouls they should have avoided. Just so they also call them on the other end, as they did last night. Consistency and fairness is what it's all about.
