Bingo. Thanks Rosey. Matt had talent but struggled to stay within a team
concept. It wasn't just his poor shot selection, but often the timing of the poor shots. When he sensed that a possession was particularly important, that is when Carlino was most likely to jack up some 3 point shot with a hand in his face from 26 feet away, without ever letting any other BYU player touch the ball. He always wanted to be a hero. Notice that after he started coming off the bench last year, BYU won 8 of its last 9 conference games. No more losses to bottom feeders LMU and Pepperdine.

At the same time Carlino had enough talent to lift a team to victory. Stanford was a good example last year. Matt was amazing in that game.
