Two plays were really the difference in them being "clearly physical both ways." The Jswag fumble after it was tied at 14 leads to a TD pass the next play. BYU then is driving, Hill breaks his leg and they punt and during the Hill hangover, the D gives up a 72 yard TD pass.
Does the D give up the hangover pass if BYU under Hill had continued to drive and scored. I don't think so. Does BYU score more than 2 field goals in the second half if Hill is not hurt. I absolutely think so.
They got a bit of momentum with the JSwag fumble. Good on them. It doesn't last if Hill doesn't get hurt. Hill's injury turned a tiny bit of USU momentum into a team wide hangover that they never really got over, arguably until several weeks later. BYU wins that game if Hill doesn't get hurt IMO.
