OBG. Was in solo practice for 11 yr. did well.

Don't worry about retire savings until you are out in practice.

I was able to put away between $50-65 K per year as a part of a profit sharing set up.

Was in practice for 17 yr.

Avg market return is 7%. Should double your money q 10 yr if you match the S&P 500.

Doing that, at 49 I have $1.3 M in retirement and $700 k in real estate.

Lost money building a house. Sold it to retire and go on a mission at a $300k loss.

I will live off the real estate funds and probably serve several missions until I am 59 and can access my 401k.

If the market doesn't crap out my 401 should double (50% S&P fund, 15% mid cap, 15% small cap, 10% foreign, 10% bonds)

Should have enough to buy a decent home and live a comfortable life. Maybe teach. Maybe do something totally different. But no more medicine. Too hard on me. It ran my life.
