What do you expect him to say, "BYU is lousy, if we beat them it means nothing because they stink."?

Surely you can see how artificially inflating the worth of a team you are about to play is advantageous, right? Kind of like the person who just finished cutting my hair saying, "wow, your new haircut looks fantastic!"
