I have been with Verizon for a decade. I don't like them. I think ALL the cell phone companies are scabs--it's a rip-off in many ways, but I guess that is neither here nor there. But I am coming to the end of my contract again. Here's my dilemma:
It seems like T-mobile might well be a better deal. 2 smart phones and 3 "dumb" ones. Maybe even StraightTalk is the way to go. So should I change carriers? Of course, there would be immediate hardware expense, but if the numbers work, they work. I need a couple new phones now anyway, and if I do it that locks me into Verizon for another 2 years. There is some resistance by rather hide-bound family members, but they will get over it. Still, no need to poke that particular tiger with a stick if there is no significant savings--I run the plan, and they are now adults (college) and can get their own plan if they want--if they scab off me they can take what I have or float their own boat (at that age I was totally self-sufficient). But $10 a month isn't worth the fight--$30 is getting VERY close.
So do you think I should change? I need to make a decision within the next 6 months, and the carriers do their best to obfuscate the truth.
