on the radio on my drive in, and the discussion surrounded the pros and cons. My daughter doesn't work during the school year, but does have a job in the summer. I'm not going to require her to have a job either during the school year simply because she has enough going on as it is with school, and considering how competitive it is to get into a good college, she needs to concentrate on getting good grades and doing well in school.

I didn't work during the school year as well, and used the excused that I needed to concentrate on my classes. My parents knew I was full of crap, especially when my grades sucked, but I lucked out since my dad is an avid skier and he didn't want me having a job that would interfere with our ski weekends.
